Customer understanding at the core of SokoPro's product development
Product owner Jari Mattila's strong customer orientation propelled him to his current role in SokoPro's product development. Passionate about problem solving, Mattila stresses that in product development, it is important to provide solutions that create added value for the customer.
Jari Mattila's journey with SokoPro began in 2012, when SokoPro was still part of Grano. At that time, his tasks included product presentations and demos and he learned to listen carefully to customers' wishes.
Strong customer understanding was an invaluable benefit when he later began working with the development of SokoPro’s new version and the testing of its new features. In his current role as product owner, Jari works in the product development team.
I am responsible for product development, and I build and write specifications for different features so that our developers can implement them as desired, explains Mattila.
Agile development responds to wishes
Where does Jari's motivation for work come from?
I like product development because it's about problem solving. There are things that need to be improved. It is interesting to plan and consider the most sensible solution for the issue that helps us create added value for the customer, explains Mattila.
Jari Mattila emphasises that in product development, the main thing is to get to the heart of the problem and solve it once and for all, instead of just adding another function to the product.
For SokoPro, agile development is important, which means that we do not want to be completely locked into any long-term plan. This allows us to focus on the customer's wishes and provide solutions for them quickly.
Integrations make operations more efficient
Mattila is also responsible for integrations, where information is continuously transferred between an increasing number of systems, applications and actors. Interfaces and integrations make sure that the information is available where it is needed, without unnecessary manual work or risk of error.
For the customer, the biggest benefit of integrations is that they help keep the information up-to-date and consistent without manual work. Data is transferred between different systems eliminating the need to upload the same data to two different systems. “This speeds up the company’s operations, helps projects stay on schedule and makes cooperation between different parties more efficient, Mattila sums up.
SokoPro’s partner network and integration always grow according to customer needs. In collaboration with the customer, we determine the value of the interface, after which we agree on the implementation with a third party. Our customers can also create their own integrations to the SokoPro system to automate internal processes, streamline operations and reduce errors.
